Oaklands at 10.30.

The first Sunday of each month is all-age worship and we take communion on the third Sunday of the month.

Each week we meet for a very informal afternoon service. We explore our faith and its meaning though a variety of different ways. Bible study, prayer, mission, music, art, dance and much more.

Building Forum

At our church meeting last week the members gave their backing towards one set of plans that we have had produced by a local firm for refurbishing and extending our Oaklands site. This decision needs to be formally agreed by the members at the Special Church Meeting on Sunday morning, which will follow immediately after the morning service.

If you want to talk about the plans in further detail then do not hesitate to contact me
through the website. Alternatively you can come along to Oaklands today between 10.00-11.30 or Thursday from 19.30-21.00 to ask questions or look at the plans in more detail.

Happy New Year

May we take this opportunity to wish you all Happy New Year, we hope and pray God’s blessing on all that you do in 2010.

2010 holds much excitement for us as a fellowship. Hopefully we’ll be able to complete the amalgamation of the two churches and begin work on renovating and extending Oaklands. These are just a couple of practical opportunities that we can see at the start 2010, we are excited to see what else God has in store for us.

We continue to pray that God will equip us to reach out in His name and His love, so that others would come to know the transformational love of Christ. Please hold our fellowship in your prayers, pray we would remain faithful and keep our trust in God.

May each of our steps be in step with God’s Spirit.

Carols at the Fairfield Tavern

A huge thank you to The Fairfield Tavern for inviting BTS along to sing carols - we had a wonderful evening as you can see in the photos below!

We took the opportunity to take an offering for Spurgeons Childcare, which raised an impressive £52.00. A massive thank you to everyone who donated.

Lastly, a huge thank you to the musicians and singers who took time out of a busy week to play and sing.

A great time had by all!

Christmas 2009

We are just a few days away from the beginning of Advent and we are getting ready to celebrate the birth of God’s Son Jesus. We’ll be using material available as part of a nationwide campaign with the slogan, ‘Christmas starts with Christ’.

The website has been updated to provide details of our Christmas services and events - just follow the
Christmas 2009 link at the top.

A new feature we have added this year is the ability to download our
Christmas posters and invites, so you can print them out at home if you would like to. Why not print out invites and put them in the Christmas cards you give to your neighbours, friends and family? Or why not put a poster up in your front window, place of work, school, local shop or anywhere you are allowed that people will see it.

Follow the
Christmas 2009 link at the top to go to individual pages about each event. Even if you haven’t been to our church before then we would love to welcome you to one of our services. We warmly invite you to come along and put Christ back into your Christmas.

If you would like more information about one of our events or services then do not hesitate to
contact me through the website.

Church Meeting

A quick reminder for church members that tonight we 'll be meeting for our November Church Meeting; the last of 2009.

The meeting will have some really important issues to discuss and vote upon. We have the election of deacons, an application for membership, amalgamation update and an opportunity to discuss the two sets of building plans we have seen and what steps we want to take next.

Church
membership is a great opportunity to get more involved with the life, ministry and decisions of the local church. So if you've been coming along to our church for a while and want to find out more about membership then read our membership page or speak to Adam.
