2010/11 SEASON - PLAYERS PLEASE READ!

Welcome.

Surbiton Churches Football Club was founded in 2008 and is run by Churches Together in Surbiton and Tolworth. We are currently in Division 3 of the SACFL League. If you would like to join us then send us an email or come along to one of our Wednesday evening training sessions. If you have any questions or want to find out more then just ask, by clicking here.
The new season is now here. Training resumes this week on Wednesday from 18.30 at Alexandra Rec. Our first pre-season games is on Saturday 4th September and we have our first league fixture on 18th September.

I now need you all to sign up for the 2010/11 season. You need to read the Player Booklet which you will be given at training or you can read online here or by clicking ‘documents’ in the menu above. This year we have introduced the FA’s Player Code of Conduct and a Disciplinary Procedure. The club will be handing out fines and suspensions for misconduct on and off the pitch, so please make sure you read this document carefully.

If you are happy with what you read then I need to have your Player Registration filled out and returned to me. Copies will be available tomorrow evening or you can print them off from the website and bring them with you.

This year we will be contacting players through TEAMER.NET and not managr.com. Teamer.net is free of charge, hence the change. Your details have been transferred and you should have all ready been contacted by me through teamer.net. You need to respond to the invite you received - it is your responsibility to keep your contact details on teamer.net up to date. So if you don’t hear about fixtures/training/notices it is your own fault!!!

Training Cancelled

It is forecast to rain heavily from around 13.00 this afternoon, therefore training has been cancelled in advance to give you as much warning as possible. You should have received a text from our ‘teamer.net’ account to let you know. Please make sure your mates that play in the team are aware it isn’t on, as I might not have your latest contact details.

A booklet will be available for all players next week with our code of conduct, disciplinary procedures and a contract for you to sign once you have read all the information. These details will also be made available online for you to read.

Friendly games arranged for the 4th and 11th September before the season starts on the 18th. Latest fixtures have been released and will be available soon on the league website.

As always - keep working on your fitness!

New System

You should have received notification by text and/or email about Surbiton Churches FC now using teamer.net to keep you updated on training and fixtures. This will work as managr.com did, but is significantly cheaper - it’s free!

Please follow the instructions you received in your email and/or text. If your contact details are incorrect then please update them through your teamer.net account.

Cheers.

Points

Many of you are asking what will happen about Lokomotive’s fixtures. Until the league make their ruling I can’t be sure, but the league rules for 2009/10 do state the below:

Rule 10, C) Should a team withdraw from the League after playing more than 75% of its games, their record to date will stand. Points for their remaining fixtures will be awarded to their opponents without goals awarded.

My understanding is that Lokomotive have played 11 of their 16 fixtures, no have not completed 75% of their fixtures. The 2009/10 SACFL rules don’t state what happens in this case, but I would assume that Lokomotive’s record won’t stand and all results will be wiped.

GAME CANCELLED

GAME TOMORROW CANCELLED.

Unfortunately Lokomotive have had to cancel the fixture tomorrow and have withdrawn from the league today due to not having enough players in their squad each week. It is a great shame to lose them as they had a good core group of players.

The league is yet to confirm details of their withdrawal; but I expect that all their results will be wiped from this season.

It also means we may be able to avoid a double header with St Martin’s as they were due to play Lokomotive on the 27th March. Watch this space for confirmation in the coming days.

SCFC v ST MARTIN'S POSTPONED

There will be no game on Saturday. The council has called off all fixtures as all the pitches are unplayable due to snow/ice or waterlogging.

We had tried to rearrange an away fixture instead, but all the teams are experiencing the same difficulties.

The council has extended the season so pitches will be available to the end of March, so we should get all fixtures completed. We may end up playing evening matches or double headers.

As always I recommend going for a run and/or making sure you do something physical to keep the fitness levels up.

GAME POSTPONED

St Paul's
Unsurprisingly the game tomorrow against CS United has been called off due to the weather. The game will be played later in the season.

The pitch has no chance of being ready for tomorrow.

You’ll be contacted about the next fixture by Monday evening and priority will go to the 14 who would have played against CS United.

New Procedures

Could all players please make sure they read the below.

We are going to be trialling a new system of getting a team together for our matches.  This is to try and avoid us not getting the full 14 out each week.

So this is how it will work in a week leading up to a fixture.

MONDAY - Details of our next fixture will be added to the website.

MONDAY - If you played in the previous match you will be contacted by Monday evening via text and email to check your availability for the next game.  This will be through an online football admin website called managr.com.
You then need to respond to the text or email, saying whether you are available or not.  (reply Y or N to the text)

MONDAY - If you have not played the previous match you will be contacted by Monday evening to see if you are available for the next fixture.  You will form the reserve list on
a first come first served basis.

WEDNESDAY - At 18.00 on Wednesday the reserves will be put into the squad if some of the 14 from the previous week can't play.  If we don't have a full squad by 18.00 on Wednesday night then players will be added to the squad from training.
If you have not replied to the text/email by 18.00 Wednesday, then your place may be given to someone else.

I'm sorry to give you all deadlines in the week; but we are serious about putting a good run together in the new year - which means we need 14 players each week.
